Carbartor needs cleaning. Most small engines are not run very often such as seasonal equipment and the ports get cloggend up.

On B+S snowblower I undid the linkage by taking off governor screw. Cleaned carb and float valve area. Now only runs on half or full choke. Idles high. How do I know how to set that governor screw and the linkage to it so things run smoothly again??

Loosen the screw that holds the governor arm. Hold throttle lever to full throttle, hold governor arm still and turn governor shaft the same way as throttle lever as far as it goes, then tighten governor arm. Three hands are helpful! Make sure that your muffler is not clogged. Check fuel filter, fuel line. hole in bottom of gas tank for debris
