Take off the valve cover which is two bolts. Remove the spark plug and visually see if the valves open or close. Honda engines have overhead valves. |

Mower starts when choke is completely closed, as engine runs choke begins to open, as choke opens engine slows down, choke moves to full open, engine quits, will not start again. How is carburetor adjusted?? |

Have replaced Briggs & Stratton in riding mower--Craftsman model 917252451--engine 289707 with new short block with a designation of V280.. ..in replacing the fly wheel, I cannot get it forced in (on the top spindle where the notch or key for timing is) far enough to make good contact with starter gear---I've gotten it in as far as I could with the nut they provided, but now it is locked in place...do I need to buy a special tool or is there a trick to this? I'm not going to be able to run it as it is because I think it will break off the teeth, both on the starter gear and the fly wheel...Any advise?? Thanks!!!! [Posted from : UNITED STATES] |
