toshiba 40h80 display with input prob

i have a toshiba 40h80 rptv. when i use the hd inputs (say when i play xbox) everything works fine. but when i try to use alternate inputs it only works for about 5 min then the screen gets very screwy. i have good sound though. if i turn off the tv for a few min and then tuen it back on, it again will work fine for about 5 min on non hd inputs until it acts up again. any ideas on the source of this porblem?
